LA: PR Director (Chic Little Devil)

LA’s largest Style House, Chic Little Devil, looking for PR Director. I have posted this job listing in LA, but am also posting in NYC too since there's such a strong fashion PR presence as well as major fashion magazine presence. However, the job is Full-Time and in Los Angeles. If that does not suit you, I would be open to a bi-costal consulting relationship where you help us sign designers to CLD for PR for a commission.

Chic Little Devil Style House is currently searching for a PR Director. We are a super-fast-growing company and designers are reaching out to me daily enquiring about how to get their lines into CLD.

Your job would include the following and much more:

1. Pitching and signing new designers or companies to house their lines for PR at CLD.
2. Maintaining the designer relationships with daily, weekly or periodic (depending on the designer) reports and follow-up etc.
3. Successfully placing designers for the following: Major NY and LA fashion and lifestyle magazines, LA Celeb Mags such as US, Life&Style, People etc, Celeb Gifting, Red Carpet and celeb placements, branding, and other measures that will further the visibility of the designer’s product.
4. Guiding designers toward major branding, co-branding, advertising, sponsorship and brand-awareness-raising strategies.
5. Helping the designers connect with the right buyers etc to grow the sales of their lines. This is not a sales job, and you will not be responsible for wholesale orders etc (although you are welcome to do that too), but it would be quite helpful if you knew influential buyers at major boutiques, dept stores and e-retailers.
6. Adminstratively making sure designers follow all requirements of their designer agreement, including but not limited to: Payments to us, providing samples (full sets) on time, providing VIP custom orders on time etc.
7. Managing your intern and/or assistant (which we will provide) to help maximize the value of your time, efforts and outreach.

The ideal candidate would have the following and more (hey, a girl can dream :)

1. A background of 4-10 years in PR with major fashion-driven PR firms based in LA primarily as well as other cities a plus.
2. EXTENSIVE CONTACTS & AWESOME RELATIONSHIPS with a host of editors and their entire staffs, editorial stylists, celeb & other-project stylists, costume designers, celeb publicists, agencies, fashion journalists, bloggers, other PR agencies with whom we can co-network. Anyone and everyone who can help a brand be exposed and go to the next level.
3. Some designers in your back pocket that you could sign immediately.
4. Insanely keen eye for good fashion, with an ability to mix the avant guarde with some lines that are also good for the masses.
5. The ability to perform or over-perform to goals financially and performance-based. Extremely goal-driven and financially driven (commission-driven).
6. An ability to assess financials and know what to charge a certain designer or company (or not charge) based on what they bring to the table.
7. Strong negotiation skills as well as management skills.
8. Obviously strong on contact management and follow-up. Computer savvy (but we do have an in-house and also a contracted graphics person to make your marketing materials etc under your guidance).
9. Fun to work with, serious about what you do, work-a-holic and a little bit of play-a-holic too.
