Roald Dahl’s Fantasy Adventure for Children; Dramatized by Richard R. George
A magical peach! An imprisoned boy! Insect friends! An incredible journey! This amazing adventure of James Henry Trotter will fulfill the fantasy of anyone who has ever dreamed of escape. Roald Dahl’s story comes hilariously to life in this delightful dramatization that reveals the wickedness of some, the goodness of others, and the indecision encountered by many when they are faced with crises. You will see James (as he cleverly gets the Peach out of danger), the wise Old-Green-Grasshopper and the pessimistic Earthworm. You will also see James’ mean Aunt Spiker and cruel Aunt Sponge come to a suitably sticky end. The action is tied together by the Narrator, a storyteller, motivator, emcee and audience friend. Casting 21 characters.
A LITTLE PRINCESS
Performances April 29, 30, May 1, 2010 (Venue TBA). Directed by Katie Corrie.
Rehearsals on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm starting February 13 at the YMCA Aquatic Center, 8422 International Drive, Orlando
Adapted by June Walker Rogers from “Sara Crewe” by Francis Hodgson Burnett
Sara Crewe is one of the most beloved fictional heroines, and June Walker Rogers has brought her to life in this funny, sad, wonderfully imaginative adaptation. Audiences will identify with Sara as she begins her adventures in “Miss Minchin’s Select Seminary for Young Ladies”; laugh with her as she brings happiness to others; weep with her as her fortune changes from rich girl to poor orphan; and rejoice with her when strange events bring still another reversal of her destiny. Casting 19 characters.
All auditions for both JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH and A LITTLE PRINCESS take place on January 30, 2010, at the YMCA Aquatic Center, 8422 International Drive, Orlando, and are by appointment.
